The title says it all.  Join us—or tell your boss (or friends? or family members?) to “take a hike.”  The Mavis/Taylor Trail offers relatively easy walking in a beautiful woodland, with an overlook of the Bayfield River. 

Meet/Park: Stanley Complex in Varna, 5 km east of Bayfield on the Mill Road. Map at

Distance: 3.5 kilometres

Difficulty: easy. Well-defined trail, gentle inclines.

Trail surface: natural with some bridges and boardwalks

Trail Hazards: some poison ivy to avoid

Preparation: sturdy shoes, water.  Check weather report, dress accordingly.
