Bayfield River Valley Walk - Hike Leaders ONLY

LOCATION: Windmill Lake
DISTANCE: 7 km moderate difficulty, pathway rustic, can be muddy/wet, fallen tree obstacles. The ridge behind Windmill Lake is about 160 feet above the Bayfield River. After walking around the lake we will follow the trail down to the river. There is one short steepish section but it has a rope handrail. We will walk along the River bank as far as permissions reach, which now is about 3-4 km , go back up to the ridge and come back along it. Deer ticks known to be present so wear trousers. There is almost no overlap with the previous day's walk. There are some rare plant species to be seen and Jennie McCune from the U of Guelph has said she will come along to show us. Hopefully some of these will be in bloom, she thinks so.
