At Varna Nature Trails - Mavis Trail
Marathon of Hope 35th Anniversary kick off! On April 12th, 35 years ago, Terry Fox started his iconic cross-country run. Join us on Mavis’ Trail, supporting one of Canada’s greatest humanitarians. Walkers begin in a quiet pine meadow and after crossing a 65 foot bridge, will then meander along a heavily wooded path that eventually leads to a lovely, tranquil lookout over the charming Bayfield River. The trail is 2.5 km long, difficulty is level 3 and the hike will take approx. one hour. Trail starts at Stanley Recreation Complex, 1.6 km. west of the village of Varna on County Road # 3. Parking available.
