Christmas is also for the Birds and other Forest Animals!
Enjoy a beautiful family oriented walk in the woods along the Bayfield River and share the spirit of Christmas on the Sawmill Trail. On Sunday, November 15th starting at 1 PM, members of the Bayfield River Valley Trail Association will be hosting a stroll on one of Bayfield’s most popular nature paths.
After completing the hike at the Bender Family viewing deck, children will be invited to create their own custom tree ornament by slathering a pine cone with peanut butter and birdseed. These cones will be hung on nearby trees so that the birds that haven’t headed south and other small animals can enjoy their own seasonal celebration.
To make this annual seasonal event even more special, hike participants are asked to bring non-perishable canned food for the local ‘Feed My Sheep Food Bank’.
