Join us on May 30th at 11:00 a.m. for a Meditative Hike on the Sawmill Trail. We are happy to have Jen Pate lead this inaugural hike.
Jen is a Life & Death Transition Guide based in Bayfield. She brings together her experience and training as a Meditation Mindfulness Teacher, End-of-Life Doula & Nature-Based Recreation Therapy Provider to help people navigate significant thresholds of change throughout life ~ including the end of it (www.re-creation.ca).
She is also co-founder of Love Your Greats, a Bayfield-based non-profit initiative that, for the past decade, has been focused on raising awareness for the relationship between recreation, connection and protection of the Great Lakes region. They have a free social Rec Club that explores the BRVTA Trails over the winter and paddles from The Bayfield River Flats in the summer (www.loveyourgreats.com/rec-club).
Jen has been privileged and fortunate enough to have trekked to the top of mountains and sailed to the middle of oceans ~ remote places we normally associate with being necessary to find "peace" and perspective for navigating everyday life. But she believes we don’t need to go on big adventures or to remote places in order to find calm, clarity & care ~ for ourselves, one another and the natural world we are a part of. Instead, we can find it in ourselves, our own homes, on the trails in Bayfield, on the water of Lake Huron and across our shared backyard... right where we are.
Everyone is welcome but pre-registration is required so that we are aware of the number of participants. Please register by email or phone to Ralph Blasting at rjblastingjr@gmail.com or 519-525-3205. Meet at the entrance to the Sawmill trail at the end of Sawmill Rd.
